A Canoe Trip for the Boys

Bill and Evan had a boys weekend. It started off with a Grizzlies football game on Friday, and ended with a canoe trip on Sunday. They went with the neighbors who live behind us, Mike and his son Andrew. It was a 2 hour trip down the river (or canal, we're not sure which) and according to Bill, the boys did great. Looks like a tradition to me!

Block Party

We have been hearing about the block party on our street since we bought the house, and it finally happened. It was complete with a parade of kids, games, food, and spirits. Bill even brought his mom's horse, Bridget, down for the kids to ride. The girls in the neighborhood really got a kick out of it, the boys were too busy riding bikes and jeeps.

Gabe, with his cupcake antics, was cracking Evan up. Never to be outdone by Gabe, Evan got in on the cupcake frenzy too.

Tearin' it up

Thanks to Uncle Ed and Aunt Rachael, Evan has yet another new jeep! They bought this jeep probably 8 or more years ago, and after using it for only a short time it "broke". At that time, they hid it away in a shed, never to been seen again. Until....now!! We got it out, dusted it off, got a new battery and fixed an 11 year old recall problem.

Evan has been tearing up the neighborhood ever since!

Thomas

I think Bill had as much fun, or dare I say MORE fun, figuring out this train set as Evan did. I have to admit, when they finally got it all pieced together it was pretty cool! Way to go guys

Happy Birthday Nana

Believe it or not, these pictures are from my mom's birthday party...not Evan's. Although it is sort of hard to tell, smile.

Happy Birthday Mom!!

Here is Evan drooling on...I mean blowing out the candles!

The Rides

Evan was in heaven with all of the trains, cars, motorcycles, and boat that they had to ride, and he did all of them!

He was most excited to ride these cars

We managed to get all 3 kids to sleep in the same room, and it only took us 2 hours!!

Idlewild

For those of you who haven't heard of Idlewild, it is an amusement park, of sorts, for little kids. The set up is pretty cool and just perfect for kids from ages 2 to probably 12 or 13. The park has several different theme areas: Storybook Forest, SoakZone, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, a really cool play/jungle gym area, and of course tons of rides. We got to the park right when they opened and stayed until they closed. The kids did great and had a blast! We started in Storybook Forest which is a land of fairy tales and nursery rhymes. There were so many childhood tales represented from Mother Goose, to Jack and Jill, to Little Miss Riding Hood. Some of the characters were "live' and others were just statues. It was pretty unique.

Still enjoying the suckers, only this time on the Little Engine That Could

Evan had so much fun in this giant ball pit!

Pittsburgh Zoo

Can you find Evan??

I have been such a slacker lately with the blog~I will try to redeem myself this month with timely posts.

We recently took a 2 day trip over to Pennsylvania with my friend Carrie, her husband John and their two kids Jack (4) and Allison (2). Our first stop was the Pittsburgh zoo and aquarium. It was pretty crowded and a little hot, but we still had a good day. We left the zoo and headed about hour southeast towards Idlewild. See the next post for all the detail, smile.
