Collecting Buckeyes

Last weekend was our annual trip to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Every year we go to the towpath and collect some buckeyes that fall on the trail. Last year, we had to send Papa and Nana since we were in Salt Lake City, so this year we were looking forward to it. We made a whole day of it! In the park they have a train that runs from just south of Cleveland to the north side of Akron. It is really pretty cool, the have a program called "Bike Aboard"! We got on the train with our bikes and rode the train about 7 miles north and then biked back the 7 miles south to our car. We found hundreds of buckeyes and really had a great family day! The Winery

After the Buckeyes beat Youngstown State we packed up our picnic gear and headed to the winery. It was a beautiful night! I was a little concerned about taking Evan, but turns out there were several kids running around. Evan had a fun time feeding the goats and running down the big hill. I think each of us took a turn carrying him back up!

Football is back!! We are so happy to be back in the Midwest where football is an acceptable Saturday afternoon activity. For the first Buckeye game of the season, Bill decided we needed a larger TV for the basement. A few weeks ago he found one on Craigslist and after several tries we finally got it down there. Let me just say this, that TV is never coming out of the basement.
We had the family over for the game and my Uncle Ed coined a new nickname for my husband...Billy Big Screen! GO BUCKS!!
